Past Communications Experience
In my past communications experiences, I have worked alongside some of the brightest and experienced communications experts to deliver actionable insights and create strategies for clients. Each experience has provided me unique opportunities to enhance my communications skill, both in a creative and business sense.
McKinsey & Company
Strategic Communications Intern
Working as a generalist on the global Strategic Communications team at McKinsey & Company last summer, I collaborated on risk mitigation strategies and actively worked to boost positive perception of the firm in the media.
Immediately supporting the North American team, I contributed to the firm’s post election communication strategy by advising external communication and publishing based on the current political atmosphere and sentiment surrounding the firm’s reputation.
W&L AdClass
Creative Strategist
Throughout the semester in W&L’s AdClass where we facilitate an agency experience, I was able flex my creative muscle by collaborating with a team of hired creatives on a strategy rooted in human insight.
At the end of the class, I honed my public speaking skills when I was elected by my class to pitch the campaign to representatives from Tide at the Virginia Regional American Advertising Federation student competition. Explaining how our research guided our creative strategy, I made a case for our campaign and how it would appeal best to the target audience.
VIA
Strategic Planning Intern
At VIA, I took on the responsibility of researching consumer reports and collecting competitor analyses to garner insights to advise clients’ marketing plans. In my role, I also challenged myself to think creatively to translate brand strategies into creative briefs.
VIA challenged me to think creatively with each task I do. When asked to come up with the intern bonding trip, I found myself soaring to new heights and organizing a skydiving trip over New England for me and my fellow interns.
